Phone repair

A phone breaks in a handful of predictable ways, and almost all of them are cheaper to fix than to replace. We repair every major brand, most of it at the counter while you wait.

What this covers

Cracked glass is the fault we see most, but it is rarely the only thing worth checking. A drop hard enough to break a screen often loosens a camera bracket or a display connector at the same time, which is why every phone that comes in gets a full function test before we quote — cameras, speakers, microphones, Face ID, charging, buttons and signal.

Batteries are the second most common job and the one people leave longest. Lithium cells lose capacity from the day they are made; by two or three years old a phone that once lasted a full day is looking for a charger by mid-afternoon. Replacing the cell costs a fraction of a new handset and takes about half an hour.

Charging ports fail from lint, wear and the small tug on the cable every time you unplug it. If your cable only works at a certain angle, or the phone charges slowly on a charger that used to be fast, the port is usually the culprit rather than the cable — and it is a straightforward replacement.

What is included

  • A full function test before we quote — not just the fault you noticed.
  • Genuine parts where they are available to independent repairers, Grade-A aftermarket where they are not. We tell you which before you approve.
  • Water-resistance adhesive replaced on any device that shipped with it.
  • Post-repair testing on every affected component, plus a calibration check on Face ID and True Tone where the model supports it.
  • 180 days of warranty on the part and the labour.

Questions about phone repair

Will replacing the screen break Face ID?

Not if it is done properly. Face ID depends on components in the original assembly that have to be transferred across to the new screen. We move them every time and test Face ID before the phone goes back to you. A shop that skips that step is why some people end up without it.

Will I get the "unknown part" warning?

On recent iPhones, any screen or battery that is not paired by Apple shows a service message in Settings. It is a notice, not a fault, and everything continues to work. We tell you up front which parts trigger it so there are no surprises.

Is my phone still water resistant afterwards?

We replace the adhesive seal on every device that came with one, which restores splash resistance. No repaired phone should be treated as fully waterproof again, though — the original rating is a factory test, not a permanent property.

My phone got wet but still works. Do I need anything done?

Probably, yes. Water rarely kills a phone immediately; the corrosion it leaves behind does, often weeks later. Bringing it in for a clean while it still works is far cheaper than a board repair once it stops.
